What does ‘professionalism‘ mean?

kstreetersnoglobeI looked through the literature for discussion of medical residents working on holidays. I couldn’t find anything. So I wrote this essay. NPR commissioned original artwork for the story from Katherine Streeter. I think she beautifully captures the emotion of feeling trapped, but aspiring to the universal, the holy, and the human.
